French-speaking LELO-lovers and cinephiles rejoice! The latest ensemble romantic comedy to hit French theaters, Plan de Table, proves that our Pleasure Objects have what it takes to star on the big screen.
Moviegoers may recognize our very own Iris, LELO’s classic vibrator with smooth sculpted ridges, featured in the first half of the film. In a hilarious scene, one of the movie’s protagonists discovers Iris in a woman’s bedroom, and unaware of what the true purpose of the Pleasure Object is, proceeds to turn it on and experiment with its speed settings.
We can’t blame him for being oblivious, though. After all, Iris boasts a beautifully smooth flower-like form that may mislead some to believe that it’s a design piece simply to be looked at and admired. French audiences will be delighted to see, however, that there’s more to Iris than meets the eye!
Directed by Christelle Raynal, Plan de Table centers on three quirky couples who are unexpectedly grouped together at a wedding. Before the ceremony begins, two members of the group share a brief amorous encounter in the reception room, during which they accidentally jumble up the prearranged seating chart. The film then chronicles the chaos that ensues when the six protagonists are forced to interact with one another at the same table—personality clashes, failed romantic advances and all.
