I think faking it can make you feel more empowered because you are in charge of your body and you\u2019re deciding to do it.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Lucy, 31, Canada:<\/strong> <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAbsolutely. Women fake it because of the societal pressure to be desirable and not to upset others.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why Do Women Stop Faking their Orgasms?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/31502071\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study conducted by Debby Herbenick and partners<\/a> found in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Archives of Sexual Behavior<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">more than 1000 women were asked a series of questions anonymously online about their orgasm behavior<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These women, between the ages of 19-94, gave their reasons as to why they eventually stopped faking pleasure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Here are the top three:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feeling more comfortable when it comes to intimacy, with or without orgasm (46.6%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gaining more self-confidence (35.3%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feeling accepted by their partner, whether they reached orgasm or not (34%)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personality Traits and Social Environments Associated with Fakers and Non-Fakers<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interestingly, there have been a number of different studies and research on the kinds of women who are faking their orgasms. The two most influential reasons being their level of communication, and how comfortable they were when it comes to talking about sex and sexual anatomy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Communication:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It\u2019s been shown that women who feel too shy, embarrassed, or uncomfortable to talk with their partners about their sexual needs and desires often fake their orgasms.
