The Follicular Phase<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the week after your period, you\u2019re producing less vaginal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/all-lubed-up-ready-to-go-why-and-how-to-use-lube\/\">lubrication<\/a> than usual, so you should use lube if necessary and engage in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/ways-men-and-women-can-use-a-vibrator-during-foreplay\/\">extra foreplay<\/a>. Don\u2019t be afraid to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/communication-as-a-tool-for-better-sex\/\">ask your partner<\/a> to take their time on you, particularly when it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/sona-clitoral-stimulator\/\">clitoral stimulation<\/a>. This also might be a good time to experiment with toys and other ways to get extra turned on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. The Luteal Phase\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the beginning of the luteal phase (the week before your period), your testosterone will still be elevated, so you might be extra in the mood for sex. But toward the end, you might be more in your head and need some help getting into your body. This could mean planning a sensual activity together, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/pro-tips-for-sex-massage\/\">exchanging massages<\/a>, or engaging in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/cuddling\/\">extra cuddling<\/a> and kissing. A date night can also help connect you with your partner and prime your body for lovemaking during this time.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. The Menstrual Phase<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/going-with-the-flow-how-to-have-worry-free-period-sex\/\">Period sex<\/a> is underrated \u2014 orgasms can relieve menstrual cramps, and some people actually feel more sensation during their periods. Remember, though, menstrual blood doesn\u2019t exactly work as lube \u2014 you\u2019ll actually be producing less vaginal lubrication than usual, so use lube and lots of foreplay.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a general guide based on the most common hormonal changes people experience, but remember that everyone\u2019s cycle is different, and everyone responds differently to these physical phenomena.
