Jealousy is the common cold of relationships. Universally dreaded, it\u2019s able to strike <\/span>anyone<\/span><\/i> at any time\u2014usually unexpectedly, under the least convenient circumstances. And, much like the common cold, while anecdotal remedies abound, no single cure seems to work <\/span>exactly<\/span><\/i> as expected, <\/span>every<\/span><\/i> time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Worst of all, no type of person or partnership is <\/span>immune<\/span><\/a> to jealousy. As sociologist and relationship coach, Dr. Elisabeth A. Sheff says, \u201cSome people truly don\u2019t feel jealousy\u2014until they do.\u201d Through her work with individuals and relationships, she\u2019s found, \u201ceveryone has the capacity for jealousy\u201d\u2014an ominous declaration implying this scourge can breed <\/span>anywhere<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, while it\u2019s true there are many different relationship styles, to jealousy, they\u2019re all fair game. Whether you\u2019re <\/span>kinky<\/span><\/a>, vanilla, or a <\/span>shade of grey<\/span>, monogamous<\/a>, monogam<\/span>ish<\/span><\/i>, polyamorous<\/a>, or somewhere in between, your interactions with a partner are liable to become infected with jealousy at some <\/span>point<\/span>\u2014and that\u2019s going to have to be addressed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
