A tilted uterus is when it points more towards the back or the rear. For those who don\u2019t have a tilted uterus, it\u2019ll point forward, towards a woman\u2019s belly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make things easier to understand, imagine the uterus is shaped like a U. A tilted uterus is when the curved part of the U is facing the back, as opposed to the front.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The good news about a tilted uterus is that it doesn\u2019t affect one\u2019s chance of getting pregnant. The not-so-good news, however, is that it can create <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/painful-penetration-dyspareunia\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">painful sensations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> during certain sex positions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Causes a Tilted Uterus?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oftentimes, a tilted uterus is genetic. But there are some conditions which can cause a woman to have a tilted uterus. <\/span><b>Some of these conditions include:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adhesions (scar tissue) due to pelvic or abdominal surgery, which can pull the uterus back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/endometriosis-painful-sex-and-how-to-ease-discomfort\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Endometriosis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, when the cells from the uterine lining are on the outside of the uterus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uterine fibroids, which are benign tumours that can cause the uterus to tilt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pregnancy that may cause the uterus to stretch to a point that it tips.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Menopause<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which, due to the decrease of oestrogen, may affect the ligaments that hold the uterus in place.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sex Positions for Those with a Tilted Uterus<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For many women with a tilted uterus, face-to-face sex positions are usually more pleasant and enjoyable as opposed to sex from the rear or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/easy-sex-positions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sex positions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that allow for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lelo.com\/blog\/deep-spot-orgasms\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deep penetration<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
