Kinky Sex is Out; Vanilla Sex is In! [INFOGRAPHIC]

In 2012, the novel series Fifty Shades of Grey made such a splash that women all over the world began exploring more adventurous (read; kinky) paths to pleasure. Now in 2014, data from the LELO Global Sex Survey shows that the sexual wants of two years ago are beginning to dissipate, as women and their partners are now looking to inject more intimacy into their sensual experiences.

The LELO Global Sex Survey will be open until the end of 2014, by which time we hope to gather results from more than two hundred thousand people from thirty or more countries. In the meantime however, you can fill out the survey and get 20% off your next LELO purchase (because who doesn’t want to share a LELO for Valentine’s Day?), and have your name immediately entered into a prize draw for one thousand dollars worth of LELO products.

  1. Dull Unadventurous Boring Outdated have all become bywords for ‘vanilla sex’, but when did it become such a bad thing for a loving couple to kiss for a while, give each other relaxing massages, have ‘conventional sex’ a bit of a cuddle and all in the confines of a nice warm bed?

  2. To Andrew – nothing wrong with “vanilla” or traditional “within the box sex”, as long as no one of the partners seek something exciting after a while. If fantasies and urges are locked up by fear, self doubt or lack of creativity, a sexual burnout will lead to “game over” or “cheating”. Courage to play vs. Fear keeping it repetitive and boring.
